Before the survey

Insider is currently available only for companies in the United States.
Insider provides 2 different survey types - Engagement Surveys and Company Page Surveys.

Engagement Surveys collect employee feedback and a pulse check on how employees feel working at a company. You can use this survey to regularly check-in through out the year.

Company Page Surveys gathers employee feedback and company reviews. The collected reviews can be published to your Indeed Company Page.
During your survey setup, you may have to upload a spreadsheet with your recipients' email addresses, job titles, job locations, and departments. You can download the template here. This info is used to provide you with an actionable report and to help anonymize* reviews.

*Insider cares about the privacy of your employees. When you upload your spreadsheet, Insider tries to identify infrequent titles and locations to normalize them to make it more difficult to identify a single participant. This normalized title and location is what will be returned to you and is what we display on the review. Some identifiable information may remain.
For Engagement Surveys, you can send the survey to any number of employees but it needs to be more than 10 so that Insider can anonymize employee information.

For Company Page Surveys, Insider requires companies to have a representative sample of their employees participate to show an authentic view of what it's like to work there. For this, Insider has either upload minimums or publication minimums.

With upload minimums, you must invite a minimum percentage of your employees to take the survey. Minimums are based on company size:

• 1 to 10 employees: Insider is currently not available to companies of this size
• 11 to 200 employees: 100%
• 201 to 1,000 employees: 50%
• 1,001 to 5,000 employees: 30%
• 5,001 or more employees: 10%

Publication minimums require a certain number of responses per survey before you can publish them to your company page. You will see this minimum throughout the setup process and on your survey results dashboard.

If your survey request does not meet these requirements, it may be rejected at the discretion of the quality control team. If you have questions, you can contact us at insider-support@indeed.com.
If you choose auto delivery distribution, you will upload a list of email addresses and Insider will deliver surveys for you. Employees who haven't completed the survey will receive periodic reminders automatically and you receive daily status updates on participation.

If you choose shareable link distribution, you will receive a single survey link that you can distribute however you like e.g. instant chat, email distribution lists. You will have to send out the survey link and reminder through out the open survey period.
No, employees do not need an Indeed account to receive Insider surveys. Employees that submit responses for the Company Page Survey will get Indeed accounts created for them and they can remove or edit their company reviews. These account will not be added to Indeed email mailing lists.
Ask your IT team to whitelist the insider.indeed.com DNS and add insider-support@indeed.com to your safe sender list.
Yes, you can upload personal email addresses for your employees.
Indeed takes the privacy of our users very seriously. Insider uses employee email addresses that you’ve provided to reach out to your employees in relation to the offering of our products or services. For example, we use the email addresses you provide to invite those individuals to take the survey and to inform individuals if their reviews were published. Employees whose email you provide us through Insider will not be added to Indeed email mailing lists.

For more information, please see the Indeed Privacy Policy.

Insider hides employees' names and email addresses from you and tries to anonymize* infrequent job title and location pairs for reviews. Read more about our privacy policy here.

The survey invitation emails will come from insider-support@indeed.com. For clients that schedule an introduction email, the email will from insider-support@indeed.com but uses the survey organizer’s name. We also set the Reply To field to the survey organizer’s email address.
Insider offers a survey introduction email that you can send to your employees before they receive the survey. Introducing your survey is a great way to show leadership buy-in, authenticity, and drive participation. This is a free, optional feature you can use after your survey is set up. We even provide a customizable template and can help you send introduction emails.
Not yet, but maybe in future releases.
Insider is a standalone feedback and review collection platform. We aim to provide you with all of the benefits of expensive engagement surveys - for free! We do not offer any integrations with third-party survey tools.
To see all your survey campaigns, please go to your Insider dashboard.
We require a 150 character minimum on reviews to ensure meaningful content that communicates a company’s culture to jobseekers and can help employers get candidates that are the right fit. 150 characters is about 2 sentences.

Yes, you always have the choice to publish all or none of your reviews from a Company Page survey. You cannot pick and choose individual reviews, though. Painting an authentic picture of your company is very important for job seekers - the majority of Insider users publish their results!

Engagement Survey responses cannot be published to Company Pages.
If you publish the reviews collected from your company page survey, they will appear on your Indeed Company Page. If you don't have a Company Page yet, you can create one while building your first survey.
Insider reviews look similar to regular reviews on Indeed, except that they are marked with a Verified Employee badge. This same badge also indicates that the review was collected via your survey.

After you click publish for your Insider survey, reviews will go through the company pages moderation process like all other submitted reviews. It usually takes 1 business day for the reviews to show up on your company page.
Employers are not required to publish reviews gathered from Insider's Company Page Surveys. You can choose to take action to improve company culture and then send out another Insider Company Page Survey to your employees.
All reviews that are published to a company page go through a moderation process. Reviews with random characters or meaningless word strings will be rejected.
Your new reviews are only published to your Company Page on Indeed. You can share a link to your Company Page on social channels.
Indeed believes that our users have the right to speak openly and honestly about their current or former employers. Indeed works to enable its users to achieve this by showing survey responses and reviews without identifying information. For more details, please review our Anonymity Guideline .
